Complete Vetting & Background
Personnel, new hires, vendors any and all persons you may be doing business with. Background checks and vetting is and will be the strongest tool available to employers for understanding lapse in time and or time spent in other countries or cities, where certain legal issues aren't necessarily reported or easily accessed here in the united states. Recent news articles have reported small police departments who have, for a fee given out badges and credentials suggesting the named individual is legally able to carry a firearm throughout the country as a current or retired police officer under the police officers act H.R 218. After looking into these investigations many former special operations personnel from the navy and army have been included in obtaining these false credentials. Several of these individuals are well known figures from recent movie's and well published military operations. Many had also worked for a security company known for its work in the protection field. These credentials if obtained falsely still carry legality issues including but not limited to impersonating a police officer.
Employers are urged to review such credentials as all of these have been recalled due to obtaining these credentials illegally and without the proper due diligence as required by the states, like New Mexico who require many hours of actual regulated police training along with the proper background checks being performed.
States like Ca, also require their own licensing when working in that state, along with being properly retired or current Law Enforcement. The entire list of authorized and licensed police officers in New Mexico is available from the New Mexico's State Police Department. At the time of the Lake Arthur Police Department investigation, they could not show any officers who had gone through a required law enforcement academy and worked the correct number of hours to be legally authorized to be a police officer in that state (According to local news investigations). The Chief's position was a volunteer position, that was filled by a gentleman who was apparently trained and legally licensed to work as a police officer from another nearby police department, but worked as the chief of this little town in order to provide some sort of police presence.
Any armed person or persons accompanying him wearing shirts, or uniforms or jackets with the word police on it should be reported to local law enforcement. An email with approximately 400 names from the chief to the many current and prior alleged officers has surfaced, suggesting these individuals say nothing to the so called fake news media, and direct all contact to himself. This is not to mention the $400.00 dollar amount per year charged to obtain and maintain these credentials. At the current time the mayor of this small town has recalled all of these credentials and anyone displaying or offering these as proof of his or her police powers should be reported to local police for follow up investigation.
The military has always taken theft of valor seriously and its shocking that anyone from the military would see fit to obtain these credentials under the same false valor principles.
